Sub-Processors

Last updated: September 2026

Better Email ApS (“Better Email”) uses the third-party sub-processors listed below to provide its services. A sub-processor is a third party engaged by Better Email that processes, or may have access to, personal data on behalf of our customers.

We assess each sub-processor's data protection practices before engaging it and bind it by a data processing agreement that meets Article 28 GDPR. Transfers outside the EU/EEA rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and, for UK data, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

AI providers and customer content

We use Anthropic and OpenAI through their APIs only. Both are contractually prohibited from training models on customer content, and neither retains API inputs or outputs beyond its abuse-monitoring window of up to 30 days.

Customers can disable AI features per workspace. Customers can also bring their own AI provider, for example Amazon Bedrock or a direct Anthropic account, so that inference runs under their own agreement and in a region of their choice, such as Frankfurt, and campaign content never leaves the EU. See the AI section of our security page.

Notification of changes

When we engage a new sub-processor or replace one, we update this page and the “Last updated” date above.

Customers with a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) receive at least 30 days' notice of material changes to this list, so they can review the change and object if they need to.

Right to object

If you have a DPA with Better Email, you may object in writing to a new sub-processor within 30 days of the notice, on reasonable data protection grounds. We will try to resolve the objection with you. If we cannot, you may terminate the affected services in accordance with your agreement.
